Great mystery movies to watch now

If you are looking for a great mystery to watch this weekend, why not check out one of these?

Double Jeopardy

The chase is on again for Tommy Lee Jones in 1999's Double Jeopardy, only this time he's on the trail of Ashely Judd. When Judd's character is convicted of her husband's murder only to (*surprise*) find out that he's still alive and responsible for framing her, she does her time and is released fully aware of the fact that—thanks to the law that shares a name with the movie—she can shoot her ex "in the middle of Mardi Gras" and no one can do anything about it.

Memento

It's not uncommon for people to use tattoos as a way to remind them of things they don't want to forget. But 2000's Memento takes that idea one step further with Guy Pearce's character, a man with short-term memory loss who inks his body with clues to his wife's death so that he can be reminded of every detail and track down her killer. The mystery thriller also stars Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pantoliano who appeared in The Matrix together just one year earlier.

Clue

One of the best mystery movies of all time is related to one of the best family games of all time. Based on the classic board game that most of us played with our families when we got sick of Monopoly and Battleship, 1985's Clue is the ultimate murder mystery. Colonel Mustard (Martin Mull), Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), Mrs. Peacock (Eileen Brennan), Mr. Green (Michael McKean), Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), and Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren) join the butler Wadsworth (Tim Currey) and Yvette the maid (Colleen Camp) in this campy film where viewers can follow the guests as they try to figure out which one of the quirky characters is the killer. Was it Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick? We'll never tell!

Best Thriller movies of all time

There are many thriller movies out there that have the power to chill and excite us in equal measure, so here is a rundown of the best thriller movies of all time that are sure to get your pulse racing.

The Sixth Sense

The twist in this particular movie by M. Night Shyamalan is possibly the most famous twist in movie history. If you haven’t seen it and don’t know the twist, LOOK AWAY NOW! The moment when it is revealed that Bruce Willis has been dead all along is a moment that still brings chills, and knowing what is going to happen in no way reduces how good this movie is. With Haley Joel Osment seeing dead people, the ghosts and the way that people react to his gift, it is and always will be one of the greatest thriller movies of all time.

Inception

What do you get when a thief has skills of stealing secrets from people’s minds whilst they are sleeping? Dealings in corporate espionage that make the thief an international fugitive – this isn’t much of a surprise, nor is the offer of redemption that Dom Cobb, thief and fugitive is offered, but instead of planning the perfect heist and stealing from the subconscious, he and his team have to plant an idea instead. But with an enemy that can seem to predict their every move, this thriller is one that leaves your head spinning and is easily one of the greatest thriller movies to ever grace the silver screen.

Psycho

There is one director whose name is synonymous with the thriller movie genre, and that is Alfred Hitchcock. His most famous and most chilling of his movies is one word that still has the power to thrill nearly 60 years after it was first released. Psycho is the movie that made us fear the Bates Motel and taking showers in unfamiliar surroundings. When you talk about thriller movies that leave you with your heart racing, Psycho is at the top of that list.
