Horror Stories to Set The Mood This Halloween

Halloween is the only time of the year where we welcome all forms of creepy, morbid and terrifying things in our lives without questioning anything. One of those things is telling creepy stories and competing for who has the scariest one. So, if this is your thing, we have a couple of scary stories for you to look into:

  • Sometimes it’s less scary in the dark: this one is for all those kids in college. This story is about two friends that are dormmates. One decides to go to a party, whilst the other stays behind to study for a test the next day. At the party, the friend has the time of her life and stumbles back to her dorm room a little bit drunk. She doesn’t turn on the lights to not wake up her roommate and goes straight to sleep. The next morning she wakes up and notices her friend is still sleeping, thinking she’s going to miss the test she goes to turn her and wake her up only to discover that she’s been brutally murdered. That’s not the worst part, as she turns on the light she realizes that on the wall in front the murderer left a disturbing message: ‘Aren’t you happy you didn’t turn on the light’.
  • Runaway bride: after a lovely wedding, the group of family and friends decided to play hide and seek before setting off to their honeymoon.  They all separated and played for hours, but after a while, the bride still couldn’t be found. They searched for her all throughout the castle, but nobody could find her and it was becoming apparent she had used the game as an excuse to get away from her newlywed husband. Everybody left the wedding disappointed and heartbroken, it wasn’t till several years later when someone exploring the castle found a chest that had its lock jammed. Once he managed to open it, instead of a treasure he found the decaying corpse of the bride who had managed to trap herself during the game.
  • The babysitter’s nightmare: as a babysitter is taking care of the children she begins to receive phone calls but when she answers there’s just silence. After putting the kids to sleep the calls return only this time there’s a voice that whispers: ‘Have you checked on the kids?’ The threats continue until the babysitter calls the police where the trace the call and yell at her: ‘GET OUT OF THERE. THE CALLS ARE COMING FROM THE HOUSE.’
  • A warning with a plot twist: there once was a woman who traveled around the country painting. One night she had a disturbing dream where a creepy woman in a dark room warns her to leave this place. When she wakes up the next day she decides to take it as a sign and leaves to a different town where she books a room that happens to look exactly like the one from her nightmare. However, it gets worse, when the landlady knocks on her door, later on, she opens it only to find the creepy woman from her nightmare.
