The Sixth Sense

The twist in this particular movie by M. Night Shyamalan is possibly the most famous twist in movie history. If you haven’t seen it and don’t know the twist, LOOK AWAY NOW! The moment when it is revealed that Bruce Willis has been dead all along is a moment that still brings chills, and knowing what is going to happen in no way reduces how good this movie is. With Haley Joel Osment seeing dead people, the ghosts and the way that people react to his gift, it is and always will be one of the greatest thriller movies of all time.

Inception

What do you get when a thief has skills of stealing secrets from people’s minds whilst they are sleeping? Dealings in corporate espionage that make the thief an international fugitive – this isn’t much of a surprise, nor is the offer of redemption that Dom Cobb, thief and fugitive is offered, but instead of planning the perfect heist and stealing from the subconscious, he and his team have to plant an idea instead. But with an enemy that can seem to predict their every move, this thriller is one that leaves your head spinning and is easily one of the greatest thriller movies to ever grace the silver screen.

Psycho

There is one director whose name is synonymous with the thriller movie genre, and that is Alfred Hitchcock. His most famous and most chilling of his movies is one word that still has the power to thrill nearly 60 years after it was first released. Psycho is the movie that made us fear the Bates Motel and taking showers in unfamiliar surroundings. When you talk about thriller movies that leave you with your heart racing, Psycho is at the top of that list.
